Takt Copenhagen

TAKT Copenhagen a furniture company based out of Copenhagen, has revolutionized the way in which things are designed. They look to develop furniture pieces, which are of highest quality and sustainable, for years to come. According to Takt:

“…we look to the future with our sights set far beyond furniture. Because society needs new ideas about how to make quality goods accessible for more people, and we need to do it in a sensible way that doesn’t adversely affect life on the planet. We take on this challenge as we create refined Danish furniture for the mutual benefit of people and planet.”

I first noticed Takt through a sweet Instagram friend, who lives halfway across the world from me (approximately 4,784 miles between us). When I saw this chair in her lovely home, I knew I had to make contact with the company. What initially drew me to them, were the clean + modern lines of their products, while simultaneously keeping attention to detail.

Specifically, I had my eye on the T02 Soft Chair, designed by Thomas Bentzen. I couldn’t get over the simple curves and details of the arms and seat of the chair. It wasn’t anything I’d truly seen before.

The chairs come in ash matt lacquer + ash black lacquer. With both color options, what is striking to me, is that the veining of the wood shines through clearly. It adds dimension and personality, lending each piece to have it’s own unique expression. According to Takt, the product is sourced only through FSC certified wood, in order to drive “sustainable development.”

And as many of you know, I have four children who love to climb and eat and move all over my home. In saying that, I need pieces that will clean up easily and efficiently. These chairs fit the bill. They are covered in a thin water-based lacquer, making clean-up a breeze.

The versatility of the chair allows it be used as a makeshift bedside table. Or as a lovely sitting + reading nook in the bedroom.

Did you also know that the chairs come flat-packed? This is genius for shipping purposes, among other things. I couldn’t believe the simple (and small) box, which arrived at my doorstep. First thoughts? How could there possibly be a chair in there. But sure enough, every piece was tightly + safely packed together seamlessly.

And on that note, I’d like to express that I’ve put many furniture pieces together in my day, so I know a thing or two about it. The precision of each piece and the accommodating instructions made it as simple as can be, without the use of power tools!

Takt offers free shipping to many European countries. If you are outside of those countries, you can contact them at info@taktcph.com
